SUMMARY:LeMay-America's Car Museum: For Gold & Glory\, A Tribute to Charles Higgins
DESCRIPTION:A world-premiere exhibition\, For Gold & Glory\, opens September 19 at LeMay – America’s Car Museum. \nMeet Charlie Wiggins — driver\, mechanic\, innovator\, race-car builder\, and four-time Gold & Glory Sweepstakes champion. \nCharlie’s remarkable achievements helped shape American motorsports\, yet his story was nearly lost to history. Guest curated by legendary automotive designer Ed Welburn\, For Gold & Glory brings Charlie’s legacy back into the spotlight and restores his place in American racing history. \nStep into the world that shaped Charlie’s story through an immersive exhibition exploring Indiana Avenue\, the Gold & Glory Sweepstakes\, his engineering ingenuity\, and his achievements on the racetrack. Historical imagery\, artifacts\, automotive design\, sound\, and storytelling bring this important chapter of American automotive and motorsports history to life. \nAt the center of the exhibition is the original\, one-of-one Wiggins Special — the race car Charlie built himself and drove to four championships. Its debut in For Gold & Glory marks the car’s first public viewing in more than 90 years. \nThe Museum will celebrate the opening of For Gold & Glory with a full week of special programming\, including media days\, VIP events\, private experiences with guest curator Ed Welburn\, and a major family-friendly public celebration on Saturday\, September 19. \nOpening day brings together automotive history\, family learning\, live music\, and a field full of cars\, with: \nwww.americascarmuseum.org/ForGoldandGlory \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Tacoma Little Theatre Presents The Outsider
DESCRIPTION:Tacoma Little Theatre opens its 108th Season with the hilarious political satire\, The Outsider\, written by Paul Slade Smith. This biting and brilliant comedy will play August 28-September 13\, 2026.  \nNed Newley doesn’t even want to be governor. He’s terrified of public speaking\, and his poll numbers are impressively bad. To his ever-supportive Chief of Staff\, Ned seems destined to fail. But political consultant Arthur Vance sees things differently: Ned might be the worst candidate to ever run for office; unless the public is looking for the worst candidate to ever run for office. As Ned’s unlikely campaign gains momentum\, his honesty and awkward charm begin to resonate with voters in unexpected ways. Filled with sharp wit and political mischief\, this timely comedy skewers politics while celebrating democracy. In a world of polished politicians and carefully crafted messages\, Ned’s greatest weakness may turn out to be his strength. \nTacoma Little Theatre’s production of The Outsider features the talents of Nicole Lockett as Paige Caldwell\, Andrew Harker-Rigal as Dave Riley\, Natalie Cunningmam as Louise Peakes\, John Short as Ned Newley\, Steve Tarry as Arthur Vance\, Ana Bury-Quinn as Rachel Parsons\, and Brittany D. Henderson as A.C. Peterson. \nThe production team features: Jed Slaughter (Director)\, Andrew Turbiville (Stage Manager)\, Blake R. York (Scenic and Projection Design)\, Michele Graves (Costume Design)\, Jeffery Swiney-Weaver (Props Design)\, Elijah Bellis (Lighting Design)\, and Chandler Garry (Sound Design). \nThe Outsider will run Friday\, August 28\, through Sunday\, September 13\, 2026\, for a total of 11 performances.  Evening showings are at 7:30pm and matinees are at 2:00pm\, please check the website for exact dates. \nThere will be a special “Pay What You Can” performance on Thursday\, September 10\, 2026\, at 7:30pm.  Tickets for that performance are available now online\, in person\, or over the phone. \nThe performance on Sunday\, September 13\, 2026\, at 2:00pm will be an ASL interpreted performance.
