DESCRIPTION:Tacoma Little Theater’s Auditions for From the Mississippi Delta \nMarch 24 & 25\, Tacoma Little Theater\, 210 N I St\, Tacoma \nMarch 26\, STAR Center\, 3873 S 66th St\, Tacoma \nTacoma Little Theatre is holding auditions for its last show of the 2023/2024 season\, Dr. Endesha Ida Mae Holland’s powerful and moving\, From the Mississippi Delta.  This production will be directed by Michelle Blackmon. \nBased on her memoir of the same title\, Dr. Endesha Ida Mae Holland recounts her 20-year journey from humble beginnings in Greenwood\, Mississippi\, during the Jim Crow era\, her civil rights activism\, achieving her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota and celebrating her success as a Pulitzer-Prize nominated playwright. \nThis is a 3-woman ensemble piece. All roles are Female Identifying\, Any Age\, Black/African American. Auditioners are asked to prepare a short (1-2 min.) story with movement. It can be a monologue from a play\, a real-life story\, or a story from a children’s book\, but your performance must show that you can dramatize the story through movement. Be prepared to repeat your piece with a change of intention.
