Tech Force Foundation

MEDIA ADVISORY – PRESS CONFERENCE

WHAT: First of its kind, Mobile STEM Career Center to be unveiled by Scottsdale-based TechForce Foundation and Penske Truck Leasing at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale – 9:30 AM Sat., 1/22/22.

VISUALS: Local transportation tech (STEM) students from across the Phoenix metro area, with cool hands-on activities (racing to change tires on a real NASCAR, testing reaction time against dragster starting lights, working on a virtual reality engine, etc.), 26-foot Mobile STEM Career Center box truck w/ video wall, custom graphics, and more. Celebration and hand-over of the keys from Penske to TechForce. Speakers will include TechForce CEO, Penske execs, other transportation industry supporters, and a special celebrity guest.

WHY: Young people need hands-on experiences to unleash their talents for transportation tech careers. These experiences have almost entirely vanished from junior high and high schools, so the transportation industry is stepping up to help. There is extremely high demand for this rewarding and high-tech career path, but very short supply – 5 jobs to every tech school grad. The STEM Career Center takes the hands-on experiences on the road and will inspire young people at events and schools around the country.

WHEN: 9:30 AM Saturday, January 22, 2022Forcecereer

WHERE: Barret-Jackson Scottsdale, TechForce STEM Career Center, Booth P38, located within Barrett-Jackson’s Outdoor Display section of the Exhibitor Marketplace. 16601 N. Pima Rd in Scottsdale, Arizona
