Summer Beauty Basics for a Glam Glow

Summer is a time to strip down any beauty routine to a few essentials that leave skin glowing and protected from head to toe. Keep your daily routine short and sweet with these tips and tricks.
Face
Swap out heavy foundation for a light, all in one BB cream. An ideal BB cream will prime, protect and moisturize while providing coverage. Proper application is key. Patting the product onto the skin works great but blending it in with a good foundation brush will help it absorb and last longer. Try creams by Boscia, Smashbox or BareMinerals for a natural, radiant look.
Sweep a bronzer, like Laguna by NARS, across cheeks for a sun kissed look and for an allover glow, finish by highlighting cheeks using a versatile shimmer bloc like the one offered by Laura Mercier. For best results, try using a fan brush.
Minimize the use of liquid eye makeup and dark colors. Summer heat can quickly smudge these looks making you look more like a raccoon then a beach bunny. If you are after color, light green eye shadow is a fun trend to try. Matte and nude tones are a safe go to and can be easily lightened with a sweep of the shimmer brick across the brow bone. To top off your look, opt for a waterproof mascara.
Don’t forget to protect lips! Choose a lip balm containing SPF and layer with lipstick or wear alone.
Skin
