All Kids Win continues to provide bags of food for area students without adequate nutrition over the weekends. Over 1,100 youth across Thurston County receive this help each week. Delivery is made to 49 schools. The 501(c)(3) strives to support youth to better be able to focus on school and ultimately to graduate.
Volunteers are integral to every aspect of All Kids Win. “Hundreds of hands doing little things make such a difference. I get to see the compassion in our community. And it happens each week,” says Matthew Klifman, Co-Chair. He started as a volunteer after hearing founder Kelly Wilson speak at an event. Klifman got involved immediately and has deepened his commitment over time.
Each bag of food contains easy to prepare, shelf-stable items for meals and snacks for two days. Volunteers fill them with cans of chili, tuna, and soup, protein bars, apple sauce, individual oatmeal packs, microwaveable popcorn, easy Mac cups and more. The counselors and support staff at the schools ensure pickup for the students is easy and confidential.
