Concert in the Cone

August 20, 2026 • 6pm • Free!
Doors to Hot Shop Open: 5:45pm
Performance: 6–7pm
Join Museum of Glass for Concert in the Cone featuring kora player Sean Gaskell. The kora is a 21-stringed West African harp traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots, and many songs featured on the kora preserve an 800-year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire. Gaskell will be performing in the Hot Shop accompanied by live glassblowing by Hilltop Artists.
This is a multi-sensory experience not to be missed. Fun for all ages, and FREE with support from Tacoma Creates!
This performance is part of Museum of Glass free-admission Third Thursday programming. Seats in the Hot Shop are first come, first served, so please plan on arriving promptly!
The Museum will be hosting a special Museum of Glass member-exclusive lounge from 5pm–6pm featuring snacks and drinks. Interested in becoming a Museum of Glass member? Click here.
