CROATIA DAY IN GIG HARBOR to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Skansie Brothers Netshed.
On SATURDAY, MAY 31st, “Sve Hrvato” (Everything Croatian) will fill Skansie Park in honor of Gig Harbor’s earliest immigrants who brought boatbuilding and commercial fishing to the area. Performances begin at 12 to 6 PM and include:
- Vela Luka Croatian Dance Ensemble
- Seattle Junior Tamburitzans
- Ruže Dalmatinke with Bonaca Orchestra
- Kišobran
The Park will be filled with:
- Croatian Food Booths,
- Croatian Gifts Booths,
- Croatian Dancing,
- Kids Activities (coloring tables, language, songs),
- Face Painting,
- Book Signings,
- Net Mending Demonstrations,
- and Guided-Tours of a “refreshed” historic Skansie Netshed.
