Mini Maestros Performances Canceled

JANUARY 25 UPDATE:

DUE TO THE CONTINUING COVID-19 SITUATION, SYMPHONY TACOMA HAS CANCELED THE IN-PERSON MINI MAESTROS PERFORMANCES SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 6 AND FEBRUARY 27.

Once Upon a String (February 6) will not be rescheduled at this time. A Mini Maestros performance by the String Quintet, Fiddler on the Hoof, is available to view on the Symphony Tacoma YouTube channel.

3-2-1 Brass Off! (February 27) will be live streamed free of charge, premiering at 4 pm on February 27 and available for on-demand viewing after the premiere. A link will be posted on symphonytacoma.org and on the Symphony Tacoma YouTube and Facebook pages once it is available.

Patrons who have purchased tickets can call 253-272-7264 to receive a refund or exchange their tickets for a different concert.

At this time, the March 20 and May 1 Mini Maestros concerts will be performed IN PERSON as announced.

Drumroll please. . . Symphony Tacoma’s Percussion Quartet invites you to a grand showcase of the percussion family! You will learn about musical elements such as rhythm, body percussion, tempo and steady beat with instruments you may know as well as a few that might surprise you! Be prepared to march your feet, clap your hands and be dazzled by this percussion parade!

Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf tells the story of a young boy living with his grandfather in a forest clearing, and the adventure he and his animal friends have when a wolf comes through the garden gate. Written as a child’s introduction to the orchestra, each character is represented by a different instrument or group of instruments and features the full orchestra and a narrator to bring to life this classic tale.

Tickets will go on sale February 21, 2022 and may be purchased online at https://symphonytacoma.secure.force.com/ticket/#/ or at the door. Tickets for each concert are $7 for children and $10 for adults, plus box office fees.

ABOUT MINI MAESTROS: Designed for kids ages 2-8 and their families, Symphony Tacoma’s Mini Maestros series provides an interactive concert experience with musicians and their instruments. With curriculum prepared by Early Childhood Learning experts, the 45-minute “informances” get kids physically and mentally engaged with the music.­

PLEASE NOTE: Symphony Tacoma is committed to providing a safe and healthy concert environment for our audiences, musicians and staff.
