Just a few months after celebrating the fourth anniversary of Linnea’s – (Multicare) Olympia at Capital Medical Center, the unthinkable happened—a global pandemic. Linnea Grantham, boutique owner, recalls receiving the bad news as a one-two punch when both of her hospital-based gift boutiques were forced to temporarily close. “I’m not good at doing nothing,” she reflects. “After staying home for a few days, I decided that to sustain my business I would put all my energy into my boutique in Lacey.”
Grantham went online and began promoting gift baskets for Easter and Mother’s Day that could be shipped or picked up curbside. She started offering personalized FaceTime shopping and doing a weekly Facebook Live to showcase her consolidated inventory. She also revamped her website to offer more products in her online store. Today, Linnea’s – Lacey is flourishing in an expanded space filled wall-to-wall with fun and eclectic gifts, a little sarcastic humor, adorable plush animals, trendy clothing and accessories, and so much more! “I only stock things that I would personally buy,” explains Grantham. “I love everything in here.” She’s also added a wine boutique and small group crafting classes to her repertoire.
Grantham has now received the green-light to reopen Linnea’s – Olympia. “We’re working on giving the shop a little facelift and then we will start restocking with new inventory and customer favorites,” says Grantham. Fresh flowers will also be available again. “We’ve missed seeing our CMC customers and being able to share a little joy with patients and families,” she says.
The boutique is located in MultiCare Capital Medical’s hospital’s main lobby and is slated to reopen on Thursday, Sep. 9 with in-store promotions and bonus points for loyalty club members through Friday, Sep. 10.
