Many people would be surprised to learn data shows only about 29% of primary care needs are being met in Washington state. With this statistic in mind, Franciscan Medical Group expanded care in the South Sound with the opening of their newest family medicine clinic in Puyallup.
The clinic provides Puyallup residents with access to one of the largest, most comprehensive quality nonprofit health systems available. It’s new, convenient location focuses on primary care, particularly preventative care, and weight management support.
Located off Meridian East near South Hill Mall, the clinic is centrally located to residents, close to where they work and live, with plenty of free parking. “Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is committed to expanding access to care that meets the needs of our communities. This clinic increases access to those critical services while providing care closer to home which can improve health outcome,” said a spokesperson from the organization.
With 10 years of family medicine experience, this clinic is led by Dr. Chris Christiansen. He is supported by four staff members and they are expected to serve 4,000 patients in the first year and more than 6,000 in the following years. As a board-certified family medicine physician offering primary care for patients aged 10 and older, Dr. Christiansen takes a collaborative approach to medical care to help his patients live their lives to the fullest.
With an overall goal for the new clinic to provide accessible and personalized primary care, meeting the growing and diverse needs of the community, the clinic will provide Family Medicine and Primary Care. This will include well-child exams, Diabetes care, adolescent health, school physicals, and allergy & Asthma care.
