ShowCase Magazine loves sharign thiis “good News” story. As part of their commitment to people helping people, O Bee Credit Union is donating $10,000 to local food banks to support their neighbors in need. This contribution aims to help bridge the gap caused by recent delays in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, ensuring that members of the community don’t go hungry during this critical time.
“Our mission goes beyond serving our Members, it’s about strengthening the communities we all call home,” said Andrew Downin, President and CEO of O Bee Credit Union. “When we saw this urgent need for food assistance, we knew we had to step in and help.” The funds will support the Thurston County Food Bank and Nourish Pierce County, which are seeing an increased demand for assistance as many households face gaps in their grocery budgets.
This donation is just the beginning. O Bee will continue fundraising efforts to support local food banks throughout November. “O Bee Credit Union can always be counted on to help,” said Martha Prestin, Chief Financial Officer for O Bee. “We’re proud to stand with our community and do our part to make sure no one goes without.”
