Classic car lovers can also blend their love of wine at one event this spring. On Friday, April 4th Wine & Wheels is presented from 5-7:30 pm at LeMay – America’s Car Museum. Attendees can celebrate the great wineries of the Pacific Northwest who have supported the Museum’s Wheels & Heels Gala over the past 12 years. This 21+ event includes wine tastings provided by participating wineries paired with light bites, entertainment and a self-guided tour of the Museum.
Proceeds from this signature event will benefit America’s Automotive Trust and its entities which include LeMay – America’s Car Museum’s education programs and the RPM Foundation’s mission to build career pathways in the collector car industry by advocating and funding Restoration, Preservation and Mentorship. Through apprenticeship and hands-on training more students are encouraged to seek career opportunities in the automotive industry as craftspeople. This is especially important given that fewer and fewer new professionals’ step into these roles as others retire and age out.
Implemented by the American Automotive Trust, last year’s event hosted 150 attendees. According to Jake Welk, Marketing Manager of AAT and ACM, “this event is an intimate experience where you can enjoy wine and talk with their makers about the process and grapes used, while also enjoying a walk around our outstanding car collection.”
The LeMay America’s Car Museum is an unparalleled experience from a 20,000-foot gallery where the event is held, to the featured deck overlooking downtown Tacoma. The stunning car collection is located on the main floor with various vehicles located throughout the top floor’s event space.
“Our goal with this event is to say thank you to our wine partners but also for people to have a good time, check us out and maybe decide they want to hang out more with us in the future,” said Welk.
Given the number of attendees, the event allows individuals ample time to learn about the wines, visit the various car displays and network with other participants, plus enjoy live entertainment as well.
