The Shelton Family YMCA invites community members to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Monday, April 13th at noon, celebrating the launch of Common Ground at they Y, a community-wide initiative designed to steward and enhance the YMCA’s nearly 10 acre campus for the benefit of both YMCA members and the broader Shelton community.
Common Ground at the Y will transform the campus into a vibrant, welcoming outdoor space that inspires connection, learning and wellness. Planned improvements such as forest therapy trails, gardens, gathering areas, native plantings and educational and art installations will create a restorative environment where people of all ages can engage with nature and one another.
The Initiative is made possible by many dedicated volunteers and partnerships with several community organizations including Mason Conservation District, Hope Plaza, Beko’s Tree Service, Mason Matters, MCCJ and the Squaxin Island Tribe. The project is funded by a T-Mobile Hometown grant.
