Immerse your senses and be dazzled by Utopian Garden’s interactive experience where
science and imagination bloom in an extraordinary adventure. The magical designs of Berlin’s world-renowned flora&faunavisions design studio give us a chance to explore powerful themes of creation and the essentialness of human connection. Tacoma Arts Live has been in co-creation for over a year to bring our community a novel and inspiring experience.
“It’s thrilling!” says Lacey Wright, Associate Executive Director at Tacoma Arts Live. Utopian Garden will take you places you have never been. “You are interacting with the visual elements,” she explains. Using ideas from thinkers like Ada Lovelace, Carl Linnaeus and Claude Monet will help to integrate our understanding of art, science and nature.
Each time you visit, you create a unique Utopian Garden within the group. “If you come on Monday, it would be different than your creation on Friday,” says Wright. “We will fully engage visitors in both the science and mystery of Mother Earth, activating optimism of the amazing possibilities of our world,” says David Fischer, Executive Director of Tacoma Arts Live.
As you enter and exit the Tacoma Armory, guests will find information on sustainability, science and nature with hands-on workshop tables. This offers the chance for reflection and further understanding. The community can connect and learn together. There will be a Wish Table as you leave for people leave expressions of hope for the future.
You can come solo, with friends or arrange to use the entire space for a corporate or special event. TAL encourages families to attend, with children under two getting in at no cost. Children three to six are $12.00 and students pay $19.00. Adult prices vary with weekdays and weekends. Photos are allowed.
