Yelm Prairie Days
Yelm’s signature summer celebration, Prairie Days, is one of the longest-running community festivals in Thurston County. 4th of July Tacoma Summer Blast
This free annual event takes place at Dune Peninsula and Cummings Park on Ruston Way with over 150 vendors, 2 stages and a 20-minute firework display. The fireworks display can be seen from Dune Peninsula Park in the north, along Ruston Way Waterfront, and stretching to Jack Hyde Park in the south. parkstacoma.gov/summer-blast
Gig Harbor’s Summer Sounds at Skansie Park
Tuesday evening concerts at 6pmat Skansie Brothers Park start July 7th and run through August 25th. The 2026 lineup includes The Mixed Tape (Aug 4), The Shy Boys and a Girl (July 21), Hair Nation (Aug 11), and Brian James (Aug 18). The series features local music and popular covers, often paired with Harbor WildWatch touch tanks.

Lakewood’s Summerfest 2026
Enjoy endless entertainment, dozens of food trucks, a beer garden, a balloon glow, a drone show, a car show, and two stages with live music. Held on Saturday, August 15th at the Fort Steilacoom Park, the event is free. nearcation.com/lakewood-summerfest
Sip Sumner: Hot August Night
Hot August Night is a fun opportunity to stroll and sip on delicious wine, bubbly, beer, and cider throughout Sumner’s downtown shops. This event is for 21+ only and a valid ID must be presented at check-in. The 2026 event is being held on Saturday, August 15th at Fort Steilacoom. sumnermainstreet.com

Washington State Fair
This 20-day end-of-summer fair is one of the largest in the USA. It highlights animals, exhibits, food, games, high profile performers and a thrilling rodeo. September 4-27 (closed Tuesdays and Sept 9th); the fair is in Puyallup. thefair.com
Olympia Harbor Days
The Olympia Harbor Days Festival is a free event offered every Labor Day weekend. Winner of the Best Heritage Event by Showcase Magazine readers in 2025, this family- friendly event displays many vintage Puget Sound tugboats through walk-aboard views at the docks and races in the bay. harbordays.com
