Back in 2006, Jim Burbridge, owner of American Dream Design Build in Puyullup, wanted to regain control of his life. A father with two young children, Burbridge was spending three hours a day traveling to work sites for a commercial construction company. “I saw an opportunity for a different lifestyle and relied on faith when I opened this construction business 20 years ago,” Burbridge said.
Now in 2026, Burbridge has 14 employees and a design center where clients can touch the finishes, explore materials, and work with an in-house design team to bring their visions to life. What sets American Dream apart from other builders/remodelers in the area is customer service. According to Burbridge, “We go above and beyond to make sure our clients refer us to their friends and family. We want to be premier in every standpoint from craftsmanship to designers using 3D renderings, to our showroom with all the products for them to view.”
