Whether its casual or fine dining you seek, Amor Wine & Tapas has all the right ingredients for an elevated evening. Situated on Pacific Avenue in the heart of downtown Tacoma, the stylish venue that debuted last spring has quickly risen to the top of an A-list of South Sound eateries.
Alongside a focus on fresh Northwest ingredients, Amor takes it a step further by intertwining the diverse culinary traditions of countries like Spain, Italy, France, and Morocco.
A carefully curated series of tapas (or small plates), entrees, and desserts sets them apart. Along with a seemingly endless wine list, one of the largest in the region, owner Chris Dasef and his staff create an experience guests won’t soon forget.
“Everything is hand-selected, or made fresh in-house,” says Dasef. “People ask me all the time, ‘What’s your favorite thing on the menu?’ It’s hard for me to answer that, because if it wasn’t good, it would not be on the menu. Trust me, if it’s on our menu, you’re going to love it.”
One way to experience Amor’s distinct flavors is by choosing ‘All Tapas’ from the ‘Tapas at the Table’ menu. Recommended per couple, guests have an opportunity to taste a bit of everything.
Another option is to pick several tapas followed by an entrée. ‘Paella for Two,’ a tasty and sharable frontrunner, is a hearty plate packing clams, mussels, calamari, prawns, and chorizo into a delicious Spanish charred rice.
The freshest selection of cut-to-order herbs and plants such as baby fennel, radish, cilantro and the like, also are featured on many dishes.
Particularly noteworthy is the casual yet refined atmosphere creating a perfect destination for a low-key evening or special occasion. Warm hues of the stunning rose wall mural are flanked by a cascading chandelier and focal point, as outdoor courtyard seating aglow with string lights entices.
Enjoy brunch served on Saturdays and Sundays, special wine pairing events, live music, and monthly Flamenco dancing by Tablao Sabor Flamenco.
