Sometimes it takes more than just looking perfect on the outside. Sometimes it takes a thorough inspection to find what’s hiding on the inside that could derail your home sale before closing.
John and Chris Neorr lived in Kent on ¾ of an acre and their yard was landscaped to perfection. The home was stunning, outside and inside, so it would have been easy for another Realtor to just advise them to put up a “For Sale” sign and see what happened if the buyers wanted an inspection.
Advice from experienced Realtor Kathy Kleber helped Chris and John Neorr avoid this pitfall when she first met them in the summer of 2023. “For the Neorr home, this was pivotal . . . the inspection report revealed needed structural foundations. With this understanding, the Neorrs thoughtfully decided what their best next step was,” said Kleber.
Kathy and her associates at Team RED helped find contractors to bid on the repair to the foundation and, once it was fixed, found move managers to pack, move and unpack the Neorr’s possessions at their new brownstone in Wesley’s Lea Hill retirement community. Then they jumped in on preparing the Neorr home for showings. Team RED organized a team of contractors to implement repairs to wall cracks, paint the walls, administer a thorough cleaning, and install beautiful staging —making the home show ready.
According to Chris and John, “Kathy has such a familiarity with working with older, retired people. Her energy and enthusiasm, as well as how professional she is, helped us as she explained things, never rushing us.”
“Had we just gone on the market without the pre-inspection, we could have been in contract on a home sale and then discovered the extent of the work ahead,” Kathy said. Listed and sold at full price within one week, the Neorrs were thrilled to have it sell quickly and avoided months of significant expenses in owning two homes.
Now living in their brownstone, Chris still putters around planting flowers in pots and tilling up soil. Some habits are hard to break.
Serving with heart, homes for all life’s seasons.
